Learn to sauna like a Finn!
How is a sauna heated? When has it reached the right temperature? How does a person alternate between being in the sauna and cooling off? Venejoen Piilo offers guidance and an authentic sauna experience!
This can include chopping and fetching wood, carrying water from a river or hole in the ice, lighting the sauna stove and sauna customs, the chance to enjoy your own private sauna experience, cooling off and refreshments after the sauna. You can also learn to make sauna whisks when permitted by the season. During the sauna evening, visitors are given peace and quiet to enjoy the sauna experience on their own. Finns are usually naked in a sauna, but you can also take your swim suit with you.
In connection with the sauna, you can take a dip in the river, but you cannot actually swim in it. The water is often low in the summer.
